Spring Beginner’s Class
Whether you have been quilting a long time or want to dive into the quilting world, this class is for you! Here is an opportunity to learn the correct techniques for reading a pattern, cutting, pressing, piecing, and fabric selection skills. Upon completing this class you will be able to pick up most patterns and feel confident enough to bring them to life.
Each week you will have in class instruction time as well as homework to complete for the following class. By the time the class is over you will have built a QUEEN size quilt top. You will be given all the help you need to get it quilted and bound at your own pace.
This pattern (available only to Beginner Class Students) requires a jelly roll and yardage for the background. Borders & binding will be picked near the end of the course.

Sashiko Sit and Stitch
Take your sashiko stitching to the next level! There was a lot of excited interest in continuing with sashiko and so we hope to run this club the first Wednesday of every month. Each meeting you will be provided with a 6" square and be learning a new sashiko stitch. Over time this will build your stitch repetoire to include many advanced stitches as you continue on your sashiko journey. You are also welcome to bring a project you are working on for some help or inspiration. Sign-ups are on a monthly basis ahead of time.

Get To Know Your Serger
This class will give you the knowledge and basic skills to let you fall in love with your perfect sewing companion; the serger.
Be prepared to learn the basic operation of a serger, the variety of stitches you have available to you and some basic techniques to start with on your serger journey. Let go of your fear and have some fun. This class will prepare you for future project specific classes.
**You must have a serger in good working order with the machine manual and accessories

Make A Pattern from Your Garment
Do you have a favourite top or dress you love to wear? Or a purchased jacket you want to add a lining to? Maybe up cycle it with a new collar or cuffs? (Picture attached after up cycling. )
In this workshop Rosey can demonstrate how to make the garment pattern pieces to do this. There are a couple different techniques that will be show 1)deconstructing and 2)rubbing off.
Q&A after the demonstration. Rosey can review your own garment for the process of pattern making and advise you on the steps you need to recreate your well-loved garment.

Stitching Companion Workshop
Boost your posture and protect your back when you are seated and enjoying a craft, reading a book or browsing your tablet. Become confident sewing curves and putting in a large zipper. A great companion to make your crafting easier!

Mondo Bag Workshop
Join Margaret and learn to make the Mondo bag. The Mondo Bag is the perfect bag to take to the quilt shop, a weekend away, or even a diaper bag!
This bag finishes at about 10” on the bottom and has approx. 15” tall sides, with options for an inside pocket and loop for clip-on keychains. With your fabric choices, you can make this bag super scrappy from your stash or very uniform using a favourite jelly roll This is beginner friendly and even fun for intermediate sewers. You will be using the Quilt Smart panels that make this bag a breeze to make. Before you know it you'll be making one for all your friends!WHEN: Friday June 26

Beginner Kids Sewing Class
Learn to read sewing patterns and create a different project each day. Explore fun stitches to make a project extra special! Learn to add a zipper to make cool bags and pouches! Create with applique and add embellishments, beads and ribbon to your designs.
Sewing machines are provided to use during class.

Beginner Sashiko Class
Now is your chance to try Sashiko! This is a beginner class where Rosey walks you through the process from start to finish teaching you all about threads, needles, techniques, fabrics etc. You will come away from this class ready to tackle any projects you envision.

Intermediate Youth Sewing Class
Expand on the beginner sewing skills you have and use them to make a QUILLOW! A quilt that turns into a pillow. You will be using a fun layer cake and learn all about the steps to complete a quilt.
Sewing machines are provided to use during the class.

We offer one-on-one (or small group) sessions with Margaret, in our lower level classroom, tailored to your specific skill level and project goals.
